Garment steamers are awesome pieces of equipment to have. They’re faster, more efficient, and less costly to use than a traditional iron. They work wonders for removing wrinkles and giving clothes a fresh, brand-spanking-new appearance.
Finding the Ideal Steamer
The only problem, though, is that there are literally hundreds of these devices flooding the market right now. Nearly every company has a steamer available these days. They vary in size, price, capabilities, and even bonus features. This makes it pretty tough to figure out which one is the best steamer to buy.
A few of them are high-quality, powerful devices that are an absolute pleasure to own and use. Some of the models, however, are made of cheap materials, break easily or, worse, spew hot water all over the place while in operation.
Finding the perfect steamer for your needs can be rather tricky. Lucky for you, we’ve taken all of the guessing work out of shopping for a fabric steamer!

Best Travel Steamers
1. Epica 800 Watt Handheld
Our number one choice based on performance, size, and affordability. It’s an excellent model for the traveling salesman or saleswoman. It fits beautifully into most suitcases, is easy to operate, and does a superb job of removing wrinkles.

2. PurSteam 850 Watt Compact
PurSteam managed to secure second place. It’s not quite as powerful as the Epica, but still enough to get a few shirts done for work while you’re on the go. This unit is also ideal for taking with you on vacations where you need to have your clothes look presentable for a nice meal or a show.
We dug deep into this little machine in our PurSteam Compact Steamer review. Read over it to see details about bonus features, what customers think of the device, and a lot more.
3. Conair Extreme Steam
Conair creates a lot of products for both beauty and home. While it’s not the best available, their Extreme Steam portable steamer is still a worthy machine. It heats up fast, blasts away wrinkles, and is small enough to store away in tight spots while you’re out of the home.

Best Home and Commercial Steamers
1. SteamFast SF-407
Our absolute favorite stand-up steamer. This unit heats up water to a thick steam in no time, performs well on nearly any type of fabric, has a large water capacity for long steaming sessions, and is priced just right.

2. Elite Garment Steamer
This awesome steamer that was created by PurSteam narrowly missed first place. Honestly, it’s just as good as the SF-407, but we can only pick one unit to take home the gold! Overall, a very well-designed steamer that brings water a thick steam quickly, decimates wrinkles with ease, and comes with some handy attachments.

3. SteamFast SF-510
SteamFast definitely knows how to make a mean steaming machine. They claimed both the number one and three spots on our handpicked list. The SF-510 is a bit less powerful and holds a bit less water than the two above, but it’s still a decent little steamer to have. It should be priced a bit lower, but it’s not a terrible deal.
To learn even more about this steamer be sure to read through our SteamFast SF-510 review to find out how well it performs, why customers don’t like it quite as much as the SF-407, and more.
